Finalized reunion schedule
Thursday May 27
Arrive in Utah sometime this day for out-of-towners.
Friday May 28
Breakfast on your own. (Those of us staying at the house...we'll have breakfast foods there.)
We're calling this the Salt Lake Day...
Morning - Temple Square (some families may want to spend some time at the zoo morning or afternoon - this can be coordinated the night before with those interested.) Pretty much everything on Temple Square is free. The Joseph Smith movie is shown at 1:30 and 3:00. The zoo is $8 for adults, $6 for children, 2 and younger are free. There is a discount for a group of 20 or more if we have that many choose to go.
Lunch - Somewhere in SLC...there are restaurants around Temple Square and there is a mall with a food court right across the street. There is always the option of your family bringing along a sack lunch too.
Afternoon - Continued in SLC...we want everyone to have ample time to do the many activities on Temple Square that there are to choose from.
Dinner - All gather at the house and eat together. The rest of the evening can be spent playing games, visiting, etc.
This dinner assignment will be taken care of by Darran/Lori and Derek/Shantal.
Saturday May 29
Breakfast on your own.
We're calling this the BYU day...I know...creative!
Morning - Family pictures on BYU campus. Plan on pictures of the entire group, individual families, cousins, etc. We will let you know the specific time and location beforehand.
Lunch - on campus.
Afternoon - Activities on campus such as bowling, arcade, museum, swimming...whatever is appropriate for your family. It's been too long for me...I don't remember the prices of any of these activities. We'll wait for Derek/Shantal to get back with us on that one!
Swing by Dallan and April's new house in progress (with their permission) for those who want to see it.
Dinner - BBQ in the canyon. This dinner assignment will be taken care of by Chris/Missy and Dustin/Alanna.
Sunday May 30
Breakfast on your own.
Church hopefully close to the rented house at 9:00.
Lunch - All gather at the house and eat together. This lunch assignment will be taken care of by Dallan/April and Kevin/Megan.
Afternoon - Spent at the house visiting, etc.
Dinner - All together at the house. This dinner assignment will be taken care of by Dean/Sarah and Greg/Kelly.
FHE that evening. FYI - Grandmother Moody will most likely spend this whole day with us too.
Monday May 31
Travel home.
As far as specific times for meals, when to meet all together, etc. we're planning on deciding those as each day approaches. Hopefully this schedule allows our family lots of time together but the flexibility that some of us may need also.
These were the assignments given out in the original email...many thanks to all those who already fulfilled their assignments!
Dallan/April - Will you find a photographer that would be willing to take our family pictures? Cost? Location? Etc.
Derek/Shantal - Will you make up some sort of list of things we could do on campus (i.e. swimming, bowling), how much they each cost, and when they are available to do?
Kevin/Megan - Will you be responsible for figuring out a program of sorts when we're in the canyon? Balls/frisbees to play with? Firewood for the fire, etc?
Greg/Kelly - Will you get details on the Hogle Zoo? Hours? Coupons or group tickets?
Dustin/Alanna - Will you make up a list of things we could do on Temple Square (Joseph Smith movie, etc.) with the cost and times of those?
Dad/Ek - Will you plan the FHE for Sunday night?
Darran/Lori - Will be helping with the FHE.
Chris/Missy - Will be finding/reserving somewhere in the canyon for us to gather.
Dean/Sarah - Will be figuring out the attire for family pictures.

Reunion planning
(I'm copying Lori's e mail so that we have access to it on this blog as well)
Hello everyone,
This is probably the longest email you will ever get from me but it will be jam packed with good information so...happy reading! First of all I think a thank you is due. We realize that a lot of the family will have to make sacrifices traveling, missing work, missing school, etc. to gather together as a family but we ALL appreciate it! It's been a long time since we've all been together as a family so it's exciting to get the ball rolling...
This is the plan/assignments that we have put together so far. We want everyone to have ample time to plan travel arrangements and such so hopefully this helps. More detailed information will of course make it's way to you as the reunion gets closer.
The dates of the reunion will be Friday-Sunday May 28-30...we have activities planned all day each of these three days. So it would be best to plan on Thursday May 27 and Monday May 31 (Memorial Day) as your traveling days so that you don't miss any of the excitement! As far as lodging goes that is still being sought after. It would make sense for Utah families to be able to stay in their own homes and those coming from out of town to gather somewhere together. We are hoping to be able to find a house that will allow us to do so and also be a place where we can all congregate for meals and visiting. So, with that said if anyone has any suggestions or connections to a home in Utah county pass the info this way!
The thought process for our activities each of these days was to plan something in the morning we could all do together, something else in the afternoon that would allow for those families who want to return home for naps to do so and those that don't need to to continue the fun, and then gather together again each evening for dinner. Here is the plan for each of those days:
Thursday May 27
Arrive in Utah some time this day.
Friday May 28
Breakfast on your own.
Family pictures in the morning.
Lunch on BYU campus.
Afternoon spent on BYU campus doing some of the activities available there.
Family BBQ in the canyon.
Saturday May 29
Breakfast on your own.
Family trip to the Hogle Zoo.
Picnic lunch either at the zoo or close park.
Afternoon spent on Temple Square.
Dinner all together back at lodging for out of town people.
Sunday May 30
Church
Lunch?...depending on when/where we decide to go to church.
Dinner all together at lodging for out of town people.
Family Home Evening/visiting.
Monday May 31
Travel home.
Now for the assignments...
Our picnic lunch on Saturday and each of the dinners has been divided amongst the families. The families that are together are responsible for buying and preparing the meal. Each family will also need to plan on paying for their lunches on campus on Friday. Sunday lunch will have to be figured out according to the church schedule. Some time before the reunion talk with the family that you're assigned the meal with to figure out the details.
Friday dinner: Chris/Missy and Dustin/Alanna
Saturday picnic lunch: Dallan/April and Kevin/Megan
Saturday dinner: Darran/Lori and Derek/Shantal
Sunday dinner: Dean/Sarah and Greg/Kelly
More assignments...
We'd like each family to help in the planning department also so...

Dad/Ek - Will you plan the FHE for Sunday night?
Darran/Lori - Will be helping with the FHE.
Chris/Missy - Will be finding/reserving somewhere in the canyon for us to gather.
Dean/Sarah - Will be figuring out the attire for family pictures.
When all this information has been gathered another email will be sent out hopefully including the times/prices of each of the activities we want to do. That way each family can decide what they want to do and budget accordingly. So in the next couple of months expect some more emails with more details...but hopefully not this long!
We really are looking forward to the reunion and greatly appreciate all your help! Let me know if you have any questions/concerns and we'll get them figured out. Thanks everyone!
Love,
Lori...and the planning committee :)

Magic
We just wanted to thank all those we saw for a wonderful Washington New Years trip. We really enjoyed the time we got to spend with so many of you and missed those of you who were missing.
We also wanted to add this little clip to the Moody archive. It's on our family blog but in case someone ever uses this blog as a reference for Moody family history... it just HAS TO be on file. It had been a lot of years and I'd almost forgotten and we can't let that happen.
Sorry it's so short. My camera ran out of memory.
Thanks Derek for performing again... the boys are still perfecting their finger magic. Perhaps next time you can share your secrets!!

My Dad
As many of you know, my dad has not been doing well lately. He had his liver transplant one year ago (Nov. 9, 2008) and things were going well for awhile. About two weeks before thanksgiving this year he started to go downhill and two days before Thanksgiving he had to be rushed over to Seattle to check in to the hospital at the UW. They thought he was having trouble with scar tissue in his hepatic veins, so they performed a 4 hour surgery to clean all of the scar tissue and put a new shunt in. He was home for 10 days when his bloodwork started showing signs of elevated enzyme levels. He & my mom drove back to Seattle to check into the hospital on Dec. 16th and they treated him for liver rejection. On Dec. 20th they sent him home, feeling that the new anti rejection med he was on would get things under control; however it didn't work and that night (Dec. 21st) my mom raced him back to Seattle. He was released on Christmas eve to come home and spend the holidays with my family. My sisters/brother in laws/niece all flew up so we could be together, and we have enjoyed the time we have been able to spend with one another. However, my Dad is not responding at all to his anti-rejection medications and tomorrow my mom is going to take him back to Seattle and he will be checking back in to the hospital for an indefinite amount of time.
At this time we are still hopeful that things will turn around, however it is very evident to all of us that this may be our last family gathering all together. Maybe we will get a lucky turn of events and he will be here for a few more years, only Heavenly Father knows.
I just wanted to let you all know, since many of you have asked and most of the time I don't know how to answer. Please include he and my mom in your prayers, and I will try to keep you all updated as much as I can.

Moody reunion in May
Hey guys,
If I remember right, we are all getting together the weekend of memorial day, right? My family is planning a reunion as well, and I told them we weren't available over memorial day. Now they're planning our reunion for the next weekend (June 4th and 5th). I just want to make sure those days don't conflict because I'm REALLY excited to see everyone!
Love
April
